After the colostrum period (the first
three days), calf milk replacers should be used to
meet the high need for nutrients, without disturbing
the sensitive digestive
tract of the young calf. The more easily
digestible the milk, the more the calf will grow
while young. If roughage and concentrates are fed at
the right time, the calf’s gut will develop better,
and early weaning will be possible.
